The “Osteria” or inn “Terra Santa” is to be found in an area steeped in religious and cultural tradition. The management have kept in mind the history of the area though employing modern day innovation, sensitivity toward environmental resources and typical local produce. The result is the creation of this successful enterprise.

The “Osteria occupies one floor of the old Basilica Mariana (dating back to 1152), and looks out on the Piazza di Materdomini ( the Materdomini square) in the heart of Nuceria Alfaterna ( a borough of Nocera Superiore), an ancient destination of pilgrimages; today considered part of the National Archeological patrimony thanks to its important historical and archeological sites. Such being the local history, the “Osteria Terra Santa” on the one hand, takes care to preserve the historical culinary tradition which respects the cycle of the seasons and, on the other, heeds the more sophisticated demand of the modern customer.

The result is a slant on the traditional interpretation of the concept of restaurant, not limiting this merely to the culinary aspect, but including a range of connected experiences, such as the organization of events with a gastronomic and wine-tasting theme, seasoned with hearty conviviality.

The cuisine is also original in as much as traditional recipes and flavours are at the base of innovative and expertly devised original dishes, all served in a warm atmosphere where special attention is paid to detail and not less to the most exacting client.
